[Scene: Rachel’s Room, Joey moves Ross’s coat to get the tissues Rachel wants and the engagement ring box Mrs. Geller gave him falls out of the pocket it was inside. Joey goes to one knee, picks up the box, opens it, and sees that it’s an engagement ring.]	[レイチェルの病室。レイチェルのためにティッシュをとるため、ジョーイはロスのコートを動かすと、ロスとモニカの母親がロスに渡した結婚指輪の箱がコートのポケットから落ちる。ジョーイは肩ひざをついて、箱を拾い、開け、それが結婚指輪だとわかる。]

(He turns to face Rachel on one knee with the box open.)	ジョーイは肩ひざをついて箱を開けた状態でレイチェルの方を向く。
Rachel: (seeing the ring) Oh my God. (Pause) Okay.	レイチェル：（指輪を見る）　え。　（間）　わかったわ。

Rachel: So uh…I guess we should…make it official huh?	レイチェル：さぁ、じゃあ…、みんなに言わなきゃね？
Joey: Uh… Look Rach…(Ross enters.) Hey Ross is here! Hey look! It’s my good friend Ross. Hey Ross.	ジョーイ：あ、レ、レイチェル…　（ロスが入室。）　よぉ、ロスが来たぁ！　見ろよ！　俺の親友のロスだ。やぁロス。
Ross: Hey Joey. (To Rachel) Hey you.	ロス：やぁ、ジョーイ。（レイチェルに）　やぁ。

Joey: Hey and look he brought flowers. Thanks Ross, but I’m really more of a candy guy. (Laughs.)	ジョーイ：おぉ、お花持ってきたんだね。ありがとロス、でも俺はキャンディーのほうが好きなんだよね。　（笑う。）
Ross: You’re weird today. (He turns to Rachel and Joey puts the ring back.) (To Rachel) Listen I uh, wanted to talk to you about something.	ロス：今日はお前変だな。　（ロスがレイチェルの方を向くと、ジョーイは指輪を元の場所に戻す。）　（レイチェルに）　ねぇ、ちょっと話したいんだ。
Rachel: Uh yeah, actually I kinda need to talk to you too.	レイチェル：あ、うん。私もあなたに話さなきゃいけないことがあるの。
Ross: Uh Joey, can you give us just a minute?	ロス：あ、ジョーイ、ちょっと2人にしてくれる？
Joey: No.	ジョーイ：いやだ。

Monica: (entering with everyone else including Mr. Geller) Hi! Hey look who’s here!	モニカ：（ロスとモニカの父も含めたみんなと一緒に入室）　おっす！　父さんがきたわよ！
Mr. Geller: Where’s my granddaughter? I’ve been practicing my magic tricks.	ロスとモニカの父：私の孫娘はどこかな？　手品を練習してきたんだ。
Chandler: He pulled a quarter out of my ear!	チャンドラー：俺の耳から25セントコイン出したんだぜ！
Ross: Hey, where’s uh, where’s mom?	ロス：ねぇ、母さんはどこ？

Chandler: Ross had a ring?! And he was gonna propose?	チャンドラー：ロスが指輪を？！　あいつプロポーズする気だったのか？
Joey: I guess.	ジョーイ：多分ね。

[Scene: Rachel’s Room, Phoebe is entering.]	[レイチェルの病室。フィービーが入室。]
Phoebe: Hey!	フィービー：おっす！
Rachel: Hi.	レイチェル：おす。
Phoebe: Are you all right?	フィービー：大丈夫？
Rachel: Uhh… I think I just got engaged.	レイチェル：うーん。私、婚約したみたい。
Phoebe: Oh my God! He did it?	フィービー：やったぁ！　あいつプロポーズしたんだ。
Rachel: Well…did you know he was gonna ask me?	レイチェル：え？　誰がプロポーズするか知ってたの？
Phoebe: Are you kidding? I’m like the one who talked him into it. I like to think of myself as the puppet master of the group.	フィービー：もちろんよ。私が説得したんだからね。私ってこのグループの人形操り士みたいよね。
Rachel: And you really think this is a good idea?	レイチェル：ほんとに正しいことだと思う？

Joey: (entering) Oh uh, hey Pheebs. Uh y’know what? I’ll-I’ll come back later. (He goes to leave but runs into Ross who’s entering.)	ジョーイ：（入室）　あ、やぁフィービー。あのー、ま、また後で来るよ。　（退室しようとするがロスが入室。）
Ross: Wow! Kind of uh, kind of a full house here. I’ll guess just…I’ll come back. (Ross exits followed by Joey.)	ロス：うわ！　なんか大入り満員って感じだね。僕はその…、まぁ後で来るよ。　（ロス、続いてジョーイが退室。）
Phoebe: There he goes, your fiance.	フィービー：あなたのフィアンセね。
Rachel: I guess so.	レイチェル：そうみたいね。
Phoebe: Although he does play with himself in his sleep.	フィービー：でもあいつ寝てるときに自分をいたずらするよ。
Rachel: I can’t say that I’m surprised.	レイチェル：やっぱりね。

Mr. Geller: Well I’m peeking. (He peeks.) Oh my God!	ロスとモニカの父：俺はのぞくぞ。　（のぞく。）　なんてこった！
Chandler: Hello sir, you know Monica.	チャンドラー：あ、お義父さん。モニカはご存知ですよね。
[Scene: Rachel’s Room, she is taking the ring out of Ross’s jacket, looks at it, and puts it on her finger as Joey enters.]	[レイチェルの病室。レイチェルはロスのジャケットから指輪を取り出して、見て、指にはめる。ジョーイが入室。]
Joey: Hey uh, is it okay to come in?	ジョーイ：あ、入っていい？

Ross: What, that we had a baby? Come on let’s give him a little credit, although, he did eat a piece of plastic fruit earlier.	ロス：え、赤ちゃんが生まれたって？　あいつも多少は貢献したんだよ、でもあいつこの前、プラスチックの果物食べてたけどね。
Phoebe: No! No, that you and Rachel are engaged!	フィービー：違う！　違うわよ、あなたとレイチェルが婚約したってこと！

Chandler: (To Monica) Why? Why-why-would you?Wh-why… (To Mr. Geller) Look, I just don’t want you to think that we’re animals who do it whenever we want.	チャンドラー：（モニカに）な？　な、何で？　な、何で…？　（ロスとモニカの父に）　あの、僕らはただやりたいときにやりまくる動物じゃないってことを分かってほしいんです。
Mr. Geller: Oh, I don’t think that. Before today I never thought of you two having sex at all. It was a simpler time.	ロスとモニカの父：そうは思ってないよ。今日まで、君たちがセックスしてないと思ってた。平和な時代だった。
Monica: The truth is, Dad, we’re-we’re trying.	モニカ：父さん、わ、私たちは作ろうとしてるの。
Mr. Geller: What?	ロスとモニカの父：え？
Monica: Yeah, we’re trying to get pregnant.	モニカ：子供を作ろうとしてるの。
Mr. Geller: Oh my God! This is so exciting! Well, get back in there! (Points to the closet) I’ll guard the door!	ロスとモニカの父：ほんとに！　わくわくするな！　よし、また戻れ！　（倉庫を指差す。）　父さんが入り口で見張ってるぞ！
Monica: Well, that’s okay dad, we-we can wait until later.	モニカ：あ、いいのよ父さん、ま、また後でやるから。
Mr. Geller: Whoa-whoa-whoa! I don’t think so! Aren’t you ovulating?	ロスとモニカの父：ちょ、ちょっとまて！　それはいかんぞ！　排卵してるんじゃないか？
Monica: Daddy?!	モニカ：父さん？！
Mr. Geller: Well you gotta get at it princess! When your mother and I were trying to conceive you, whenever she was ovulating, bam, we did it. That’s how I got my bad hip.	ロスとモニカの父：お姫さん、ものは試しだ！　母さんと父さんがお前を作るとき、母さんが排卵したら、バン、いつでもやったさ。だから父さん、お尻を痛めてしまった。

Rachel: Joey asked me marry him.	レイチェル：ジョーイが私にプロポーズした。
Monica: What?	モニカ：え？
Rachel: Joey proposed to me.	レイチェル：ジョーイがプロポーズしたの。
Monica: Is he crazy?! You just had Ross’s baby!	モニカ：あいつ何考えてんの？！　あんた兄さんの子供産んだばっかりじゃん！
Rachel: Well, I-I said yes.	レイチェル：うん、私、OKしちゃった。
Monica: What?! Are you crazy? You just had Ross’s baby! It’s-it’s so inappropriate. No, it’s worse than that. It’s wrong. It’s… It is bigger than mine! (Rachel’s engagement ring.)	モニカ：え？！　あんた何考えてんの？　あんた兄さんの子供産んだばかりじゃん！　そんなの、そんなの間違ってるわ。いや、もっと悪いわ。もう最悪よ。もう、もう、私のよりでかい！　（レイチェルの婚約指輪を見る。）
Rachel: I know. Days of Our Lives, thank you very much.	レイチェル：そうよ。愛の病棟日誌、ありがとう。
Monica: You can’t marry him!	モニカ：結婚しちゃだめよ！
Rachel: Why not? I don’t want to do this alone! And he’s such a sweet guy and he loves me so much.	レイチェル：なんで？　独りで子育てなんていや！　ジョーイってほんとにいい人だし、私のことほんとに愛してくれてるわ。
Monica: Well do you love him?	モニカ：で、あなたはジョーイを愛してるの？
Rachel: Sure.	レイチェル：もちろん。
Monica: Sure?	モニカ；もちろん？
Rachel: Yeah, I mean whatever.	レイチェル：うん、その、何でもいいのよ。
Monica: Honey, the question is…do you really want to marry Joey?	モニカ：大事なのはさ…、ほんとにジョーイと結婚したいの？
Rachel: No. No, I don’t. Could you be a dear and go tell him?	レイチェル：んーん。したいと思わない。お願いだからジョーイに言ってくれる？ dear　優しい人、親愛な人
[Scene: A Hallway, Chandler is following Joey.]	[廊下。チャンドラーがジョーイに続いて歩いている。]
Chandler: You still haven’t told Rachel you weren’t really proposing?	チャンドラー：まだレイチェルにプロポーズじゃないって言ってないのか？
Joey: No! She had the ring on, she seemed so excited, and then she took her breast out.	ジョーイ：まだ！　指輪つけてるし、すごいわくわくしてるし、胸までだしちゃって。
Chandler: Joey, you have to tell her what’s going on! And what did it look like?!	チャンドラー：ジョーイ、ちゃんと説明しなきゃだめだろ！　でどんな感じだったんだ？！
Joey: I didn’t look at it. Stupid baby’s head was blocking most of it.	ジョーイ：見てないよ。バカな赤ん坊の頭のせいで見えなかった。
Chandler: Go and tell Rachel right now before Ross finds out.	チャンドラー：ロスが気づくまえに、今すぐレイチェルに言ってこいよ。
Joey: Look, it’s not that easy. She said she wanted to marry me. I don’t want to hurt her.	ジョーイ：そんな簡単じゃないんだよ。俺と結婚したいっていったんだぜ。レイチェルを傷つけたくないよ。
Chandler: Okay, look, just do it gently.	チャンドラー：わかってるよ。優しく言えって。
Joey: You’re right. You’re right. I-I’ll go tell her now before Ross finds out and I’ll be gentle. I can do that. I am a gentle person. Oh, by the way. Two people screwing in there (Points to the closet Chandler and Monica were in) if you want to check that out.	ジョーイ：わかった。その通りだ。ロスが気づくまえに今言ってくる、優しくね。俺はできるさ。俺は優しい男だ。あ、そうだ。ここでセックスしてるやつがいるぜ　（チャンドラーとモニカがいた倉庫を指差す）　見てみろよ。
[Scene: Rachel’s Room, Ross is entering.]	[レイチェルの病室。ロスが入室。]
Ross: Hey.	ロス：やぁ。
Rachel: Hey.	レイチェル：やぁ。
Ross: Listen, I um… I heard about the engagement.	ロス：あ、その、婚約の話聞いたよ。
Rachel: Surprised?	レイチェル：驚いた？
Ross: And confused. Rach, sweetie, I-I um…I didn’t propose to you.	ロス：うん、でも混同した。レイチェル、その…、僕はプロポーズしてないよ。
Rachel: I know.	レイチェル：知ってるわ。
Ross: I don’t think you do.	ロス：そうは思わないなぁ。
Rachel: You didn’t propose to me. Joey did.	レイチェル：ロスはプロポーズしてないわ。ジョーイがしたのよ。
Ross: Poor baby, you’re so tired. Rach, I didn’t propose to you, Joey didn’t propose to you, and Chandler didn’t propose to you.	ロス：かわいそうに、こんなに疲れてしまって。レイチェル、僕はプロポーズしていない、ジョーイもプロポーズしてない、チャンドラーもプロポーズしてないよ。
Rachel: Uh… You didn’t propose to me, Chandler didn’t propose to me, but Joey did.	レイチェル：あー、あなたはプロポーズしてないわ、チャンドラーもプロポーズしてないわ、でもジョーイはしたのよ。
(Joey enters.)	ジョーイが入室。
Ross: Joey proposed to you?	ロス：ジョーイが君にプロポーズした？
Joey: I can come back.	ジョーイ：またくるよ。
Ross: Hey, wait! Wait-wait-wait! Joey, did you propose to her?	ロス：おい、待って！　待って、待って！　ジョーイ、レイチェルにプロポーズした？
Joey: No.	ジョーイ：してない。
Rachel: Yes you did!	レイチェル：したわよ！
Joey: Actually, technically, I didn’t.	ジョーイ：実際は、厳密に言えば、してないよ。
Rachel: Well then why did you give me a ring?	レイチェル：じゃあ、何で指輪くれたのよ？
Ross: Wait! Whoa-whoa, you…you gave her the ring?	ロス：待って！　え、え？　お、お前は指輪を渡したのか？
Joey: No! No, and I did not ask her to marry me!	ジョーイ：渡してない！　渡してない、プロポーズもしてない！
Rachel: Yes, you did!	レイチェル：したわよ！
Joey: No, I didn’t!	ジョーイ：してない！
Rachel: Yes, you did!	レイチェル：した！
Joey: No, I didn’t!	ジョーイ：してない！
Rachel: Yes, you did! And don’t you say, "No, I didn’t!"	レイチェル：した！　"してない"っていっちゃだめ！
Joey: Ahhh!	ジョーイ：あーーー！
Rachel: He was right there. He got down on one knee and proposed.	レイチェル：ジョーイはここにいて。片ひざをついてプロポーズした。
Ross: Whoa! You were down on one knee?	ロス：おい！　片ひざをついていた？
Joey: Yeah. Yeah, that looks bad. But I didn’t…I didn’t propose!	ジョーイ：うん。うん。かっこ悪かった。でも、してない。プロポーズしてない！
Ross: Then what did happen?	ロス：じゃあ何があったんだ？
Rachel: Yeah, what did happen?	ロス：そうよ、何があったのよ？
Joey: Okay, the ring fell on the floor and I went down to pick it up and you thought I was proposing.	ジョーイ：わかったよ。指輪が床に落ちて、それを拾ったら、プロポーズしたと勘違いされたんだよ。
Rachel: Yeah, but you said, "Will you marry me?"	レイチェル：そう。でも"結婚してくるか？"って言ったじゃん。
Joey: No, I didn’t!	ジョーイ：言ってない！
Rachel: Yes, you did!	レイチェル：言った！
Joey: No, I didn’t!	ジョーイ：言ってない！
Rachel: Yes, you did? Oh my God you didn’t! (Screams) Well then why didn’t you tell me that before?!	レイチェル：言った？　あー！　言ってない！　（叫ぶ）　じゃあ、何で今まで黙ってたのよ？！
Joey: Well I tried, but people kept coming in and then you took your breast out!	ジョーイ：説明しようとしたんだよ。でもどんどん人が入ってくるし、君が胸をだすし！
Ross: Whoa! Hey! Whoa-whoa-whoa, you saw her breast?!	ロス：おい！　おい、おい、おい、胸をみたのか？！
Joey: (To Ross) I’ll tell you about it later. Be cool.	ジョーイ：（ロスに）　あとでじっくり教えるから、落ち着けよ。
Rachel: Well then Joey, what the hell were you doing with an engagement ring?!	レイチェル：じゃあ、ジョーイ、何で婚約指輪なんて持ってたのよ？！
Joey: It wasn’t my ring! It’s Ross’s ring! That’s why I felt so bad Rach, because he was going to propose.	ジョーイ：俺の指輪じゃないんだよ！　ロスの指輪なんだ！　だからほんとにロスに悪い気持ちになっちゃって、だってロスはプロポーズしようとしたんだぜ。
Ross: What?!	ロス：え？！
Rachel: You were gonna propose to me?	レイチェル：ロス、私にプロポーズしようとしたの？
Ross: Uhh… No.	ロス：あー…、いや。
(An awkward silence follows.)	決まりの悪い雰囲気になる。
Joey: Well, this is awkward.	ジョーイ：あー、何かへんな感じ。
Ross: But I-I was going to see if y’know, maybe you uh, start dating again but that? I mean that-that was all, Rach.	ロス：でも、僕は、その、君がまたデートする気があるか確かめたかったんだ。でもそれだけなんだよ。
Joey: Dude, step up! I proposed.	ジョーイ：おい、頑張れよ！　俺はプロポーズしたんだぜ。
Ross: No, you didn’t!	ロス：してないよ！
Joey: Oh that’s right. There’s a lot going on here and I think I ate some bad fruit earlier.	ジョーイ：あ、そうだった。もう何がなんだかわからなくなった。何か腐った果物食ったみたいだし。
(There’s a knock on the door and the Nurse enters carrying Emma.)	ノックの音が。看護婦がエマを抱いて入室。
Nurse: Hey, she just woke up! She’s hungry. Why don’t we give this another try?	看護婦：エマちゃんが起きたわよ！　おなかペコペコよ。もう一回試してみてください。
Rachel: Okay.	レイチェル：はい。
Ross: (To Joey) I can’t believe you told her I was going to propose!	ロス：（ジョーイに）　僕がプロポーズする予定だったって言うなんて信じられない！
Joey: I can’t believe you’re not going to propose!	ジョーイ：俺はお前がプロポーズしないことのほうが信じられないよ！
Ross: Hey, I’m not going to rush into anything!	ロス：おい。もう僕は急がないことに決めたんだ。
Joey: Oh yeah, dude, I totally understand. Usually after I have a baby with a woman I like to slow things down!	ジョーイ：そうだよな。よく分かるぜ。俺も赤ん坊が生まれたら、スローダウンしたいよ！
Rachel: Oh my God!	レイチェル：やったぁ！
Ross: What?	ロス：どうしたの？
Rachel: She’s doing it Look, she’s breast-feeding look!	レイチェル：飲んでるわ。見て、お乳を飲んでるわ。
Joey: (looking at the ceiling) Ah, it’s beautiful.	ジョーイ：（天井を見る）　あー、美しい光景だね。
Nurse: I’ll come back for her later.	看護婦：また後できますね。
Rachel: Okay.	レイチェル：わかりました。
Ross: Thank you. (The nurse exits.)	ロス：ありがとうございます。　（看護婦が退室。）
Rachel: Oh wow, this feels weird.	レイチェル：わぁ、変な感じぃ。
Ross: Good weird?	ロス：いい変な感じ？
Rachel: Wonderful weird.	レイチェル：素晴らしく変な感じ。
Joey: Y’know what you guys? I’m uh, I’m gonna go too. And uh, I’m sorry about everything.	ジョーイ：あのさ。も、もう行くよ。で、ゴメンね。全部…。
Rachel: Honey don’t worry, it was my mistake.	レイチェル：心配しないで。私の勘違いだったのよ。
Joey: No, Rach, I should’ve told you sooner. It’s just that…Man! That kid is going to town! (Joey makes his awkward exit.)	ジョーイ：でも、レイチェル。俺がもっと早く説明するべきだった。その…、おぉ！　こいついい子に育つぜ！　（ジョーイは決まりが悪くなり退室。）
Rachel: She’s perfect.	レイチェル：ほんとにかわいいわ。
Ross: We’re so lucky.	ロス：僕たち、ほんとにラッキーだよ。
Rachel: We really are.	レイチェル：ほんとよね。
Ross: Look, I-I know it’s not a proposal and I don’t know where you are, but with everything that’s been going on and with Emma and…I’ve been feeling…	ロス：ねぇ、確かにプロポーズじゃなかったけど、今、僕たちがどういう関係わからないけど、今起こっていることやエマ…、すべてのことが…。僕は思うんだ…。
Rachel: I know. I know. I’ve feeling…	レイチェル：うん、わかる。私も思うわ…。
Ross: Yeah?	ロス：そうだね。
Rachel: Yeah. (Laughs nervously)	レイチェル：そうね。（ナーバスに笑う。）
Ross: Okay, well, that… Wow, okay, well, umm…then maybe, at least we can, we can talk about us again.	ロス：そうか。そうだね。うん。じゃあ、少なくとも僕たちについてまた話せるね。
Rachel: Yeah, maybe.	レイチェル：うん、そうね。
Ross: Well good, okay. I-I, kind of think y’know if we…if… You’re wearing the ring.	ロス：よかった。君も知ってるとおもうけど…、僕は…。指輪をつけてる。
(Pause.)	間
Rachel: Wh-what’s that?	レイチェル：え、な、何？
Ross: And you told Phoebe you were engaged.	ロス：しかも、君はフィービーに婚約したって言った。
Rachel: I’m sorry, what?	レイチェル：ゴメン、何だって？
Ross: When you thought Joey proposed did…did you say yes?	ロス：ジョーイがプロポーズしたと思ったとき、き、君はOKした？
Closing Credits	エンディング
[Scene: Outside the Janitor’s Closet, there are people having sex and Mr. Geller is trying to give them some pamphlets.]	[掃除用具倉庫の外。中でセックスしている人がいて、ロスとモニカの父がパンフレットを渡そうとしている。]
Mr. Geller: Kids, I spoke to a doctor and picked up this pamphlets on how to get pregnant. (He slides them under the door.)	ロスとモニカの父：医者に話を聞いて、妊娠のためのパンフレットをもらってきたぞ。　（パンフレットをドアの下から送る。）
Monica: (walking by with Chandler.) Hey dad!	モニカ：（チャンドラーと一緒に歩いている。）　父さん！
Chandler: Hey.	チャンドラー：どうも。
Mr. Geller: (pause) Sorry to bother you again, but could you pass my pamphlets back? (They do so.) Thank you.	ロスとモニカの父：（間）　たびたびお邪魔して申し訳ないんだけど、パンフレット返してくれますか？　（パンフレットが返される。）　ありがとう。
